HostRite was using NitroPack and had previously reviewed it very positively. In fact, our experience with NitroPack showed us just how much difference a cloud-based WordPress performance platform can make. It was easy to configure, delivered excellent performance, and helped take much of the work out of WordPress optimization.
Then we ran across BerqWP.
We decided to give BerqWP a try, and the results opened our eyes. In our experience, BerqWP delivered equal or better performance, while offering something that immediately caught our attention: unlimited pageviews and unlimited CDN data on its paid plans. Instead of constantly thinking about how much traffic our optimization plan allowed, BerqWP gave us an opportunity to concentrate on the website itself.

BerqWP vs NitroPack: The Quick Answer
Both are capable WordPress performance products, and we are not going to pretend NitroPack suddenly became a bad product simply because we discovered something we like better.
It didn’t.

However, BerqWP takes a different approach to several limitations that mattered to us.
On BerqWP’s current paid plans, the company advertises:

For HostRite, that difference became impossible to ignore.
Our Experience With NitroPack Was Good
Before discussing why BerqWP impressed us, NitroPack deserves credit.
We used NitroPack because it worked.
Our previous experience showed that NitroPack could deliver substantial WordPress performance improvements without forcing us to manually assemble and configure numerous individual optimization plugins.
That convenience matters.
WordPress performance can quickly turn into a collection of caching plugins, image optimizers, CDN services, CSS tools, JavaScript settings, lazy-loading systems, and other components. A cloud-based all-in-one approach can make performance optimization considerably easier.
NitroPack provides that kind of experience.

Then HostRite Discovered BerqWP
We weren’t necessarily looking to replace NitroPack when we ran across BerqWP.
Nevertheless, we are always interested in technologies that could improve the websites we operate. Consequently, BerqWP caught our attention and we decided to test it.
The performance was the first surprise.
From our own experience, BerqWP produced performance that was equal to or better than what we had been getting with NitroPack.
That alone made BerqWP worth investigating further.
However, performance wasn’t the only thing that got our attention.
Once we started looking deeper, we discovered that BerqWP’s paid plans weren’t built around monthly pageview ceilings. Furthermore, the plans included unlimited CDN usage.
For a website publisher, those two words—unlimited pageviews—can make an enormous difference.
The Biggest Difference for Us: Unlimited Pageviews
Traffic is supposed to be a good thing.
If an article suddenly becomes popular, a page ranks well in search, or social media sends thousands of additional visitors, a website owner should be celebrating.
We don’t particularly like the idea of having to wonder whether a traffic spike is also eating through the monthly allowance of the service responsible for optimizing the website.

Unlimited CDN Data Is Another Big BerqWP Advantage
The CDN difference was equally important to us.
A Content Delivery Network helps deliver static website resources from infrastructure closer to visitors. That can include images, CSS, JavaScript, and fonts.
BerqWP says its CDN uses global infrastructure to deliver these resources rather than making the origin hosting server handle every request. Its CDN documentation also states that the service works automatically and supports its Fluid Images system. (BerqWP)

NitroPack includes a CDN too. However, its standard plans have defined bandwidth allowances.
Currently, NitroPack lists:
Starter: 5 GB CDN bandwidth per month
Plus: 25 GB CDN bandwidth per month

For a small site, those limits may never become important.
However, an image-heavy site, busy publication, or rapidly growing website may have a very different experience.
For us, BerqWP’s unlimited model is simply easier to live with.
Both BerqWP and NitroPack Move Optimization Into the Cloud
One reason we like both products is their cloud-based architecture.
Traditional WordPress optimization plugins can perform substantial work on the hosting server itself. That isn’t automatically bad, but optimization processes can consume hosting resources.
BerqWP and NitroPack approach the problem differently.

BerqWP Image Optimization Goes Beyond WebP
Images are often responsible for a large percentage of the data transferred when loading a webpage.
Therefore, image optimization matters.

That matters because sending a huge desktop-sized image to a small mobile screen wastes bandwidth.

For image-heavy WordPress websites, these are meaningful features.
BerqWP Includes Built-In Core Web Vitals Monitoring
Making a website faster is useful.
Knowing what actual visitors are experiencing is even better.
BerqWP includes a Web Vitals Analytics dashboard designed to collect real-user performance information and display important Core Web Vitals measurements inside WordPress.
The metrics include:
LCP — Largest Contentful Paint
CLS — Cumulative Layout Shift
INP — Interaction to Next Paint
Instead of relying exclusively on individual laboratory tests, real-user measurements can provide another perspective on how the website performs for actual visitors.
BerqWP reports that 84.6 percent of 4.6 million measured real-user sessions across its network passed Google’s Core Web Vitals thresholds during a recent 28-day measurement window. That statistic comes from BerqWP itself, so we view it as vendor-reported performance data rather than an independent benchmark. (BerqWP)

We like having that information available directly within the performance platform.
BerqWP vs NitroPack for Traffic Spikes
This may be where the difference becomes most important for publishers.
Imagine that a website normally receives modest traffic.
Then one article takes off.
Facebook shares start climbing. Google Discover sends traffic. A post gets linked from another large website. Suddenly, the site receives several times its normal number of visitors.
That’s exactly when you want your performance optimization working at full capacity.
BerqWP’s unlimited-pageview model means a traffic spike does not consume a monthly pageview allowance on its paid plans.

However, we prefer not having to size our WordPress performance plan according to monthly pageviews in the first place.
BerqWP vs NitroPack for WooCommerce
WooCommerce introduces additional performance challenges because not every page should behave like a static blog post.
Shopping carts, checkout pages, customer accounts, pricing, and other dynamic information must be handled correctly.

However, traffic variability becomes particularly interesting for an online store.
A promotion, holiday sale, viral product, email campaign, or social-media post can dramatically increase traffic in a short period.

A successful sales promotion should make you think about filling orders—not how many performance-service pageviews remain.

Pricing changes, promotions expire, and these companies can revise their plans at any time. Therefore, always verify current pricing before purchasing either service.
At the time of this review, BerqWP’s pricing page shows substantial promotional annual pricing. More important than the temporary promotional numbers, however, is the structure of the plans.
The paid Solo plan covers one website with unlimited pages and unlimited CDN. Team covers up to 10 websites with unlimited pages and unlimited CDN. Agency covers unlimited websites, unlimited pages, and unlimited CDN. (BerqWP)

Therefore, don’t compare these services on price alone.
Compare what happens when your traffic grows.
That’s where the BerqWP model became particularly attractive to us.
What We Still Like About NitroPack
We don’t believe a fair BerqWP vs NitroPack review should pretend there is nothing to like about NitroPack.
There is plenty.
NitroPack is established, feature-rich, and easy to use. Its current platform includes advanced caching, cache warmup, resource minification, font optimization, script optimization, image optimization, CDN delivery, and increasingly sophisticated performance features. (NitroPack)
Furthermore, somebody already using NitroPack who comfortably remains inside the limits of their plan may have little reason to be unhappy.
If your website receives predictable traffic and NitroPack is delivering excellent performance, it remains a strong WordPress optimization solution.
Our discovery of BerqWP doesn’t erase our positive experience with NitroPack.
It simply gave us another option that better matches what we now want from a performance service.
What Changed Our Minds About BerqWP
For HostRite, it came down to a surprisingly simple combination:
The performance was there.
Then we discovered the usage model.
We were getting equal or better performance in our own experience, but we weren’t facing the same pageview and CDN bandwidth considerations on BerqWP’s paid service.
That made us look more closely.
Then we found AVIF image delivery.
We found responsive Fluid Images.
We found built-in Web Vitals Analytics.
We found unlimited CDN.
We found unlimited pageviews.
And for agencies, BerqWP even offers an unlimited-website plan.
The more we explored it, the more compelling the package became.
Is BerqWP Better Than NitroPack?
For every WordPress website?
We wouldn’t make that claim.
Different websites have different requirements, and performance plugins can behave differently depending on the theme, plugins, hosting environment, traffic, and configuration.
However, for HostRite’s priorities, BerqWP currently has the advantage.
Our real-world experience gave us performance that was equal to or better than NitroPack, while BerqWP’s paid plans removed the pageview and CDN bandwidth ceilings that concerned us.
That combination is difficult to overlook.

NitroPack deserves credit for being a powerful WordPress optimization platform. We used it, reviewed it, and had a positive experience with it.
Then we tried BerqWP.
And BerqWP opened our eyes.
It wasn’t because NitroPack suddenly became slow. Instead, BerqWP demonstrated that we could get equal or better performance in our experience while gaining unlimited pageviews and unlimited CDN usage on the paid plans.
For a website owner expecting growth, those advantages matter.
For a news publisher where traffic can spike unexpectedly, they matter even more.
For someone managing multiple websites, the difference can become enormous.
